If the speakers appear on your iPod's Bluetooth list, but say "not connected", then you probably need to "prime the speaker" to accept a new connection. Typically, there is a button on the speaker which, when held "on", will put the speaker into "be seen" mode, which allows your iPod to connect with it when you tap that speaker.
- Make sure the speaker is in range of your iPod
- Put the speaker into "be seen" mode (check the instructions for the speaker)
- In the iPod's Bluetooth Settings menu, tap on the speaker name in the list
- The iPod should then state "connected"
Some times, the speaker may require that you enter a code (on the iPod) before connecting. Consult the speaker's instructions if that happens, in order to find the code. It's usually 0000 or 1234
