Remove "Any Search Manager" from Mac

After much searching, confusion, and frustration this is the first suggestion that has fixed my issue. So long Bing, adios Yahoo, hello Google. Yay, and much thanks. So far so good.

Malwarebytes worked for me with this same issue.

Get Malwarebytes, the free version and scan your MacBook. On my machine Malwarebytes quarantined 3 files, I confirmed remediation and restarted my MacBook. The problem has gone away!🙂

If you use Time Machine you can restore from a backup.

It is not listed in the preferences folder

I did the exact same. I agree. I should have known better

Any suggestions here for Google Chrome?

I answered my own question. Under Chrome preferences, I found an extension for something I didn't recognize. Turned it off and deleted the extension. Everything works ok now.

This just happened to me 3-9-18. Can I have the info on what to do? I am frustrated! Thank you so much

This happened to me before ok, so go to safari then prefernces click on extensions and next to its name it should say uninstall. Hope that helped, just do the same on chrome and firefox

It is a malware. I could not find it in Safari Extensions. Had to run Malware Bytes to get rid of it (I hope!).

When I click on the Search Manager.dmg it doe say it is a Safari extension. However it does not show up Preferences>extensions?
