Is the Network Utility App included in High Sierra?

I just upgraded to High Sierra and I can’t locate this app. Is it gone?

Hi JerseyMac,

I know it's important to find all the apps you're used to using. I want to help you get to using Network Utility as you would expect.

Personally, I prefer pulling up the Network Utility using Spotlight. You can use Command–Space bar to open Spotlight, and then type 'Network Utility' into the search field.

Here's more on Network Utility and using Spotlight:

Let me know if that helps.

Apple in their wisdom or infinite looniness decided to move Network Utility many moons ago.

You can still find it in the path Macintosh HD/ System/ Library/ CoreServices/ Applications/ Network Utility.app.

you can of course move back to its historic location of Applications/ Utilities

In High Sierra System Preferences> Network the Assist me button has now gone which irks many many people

which means the network assist app and network diagnostics are gone.

There is a method of getting them back if you have a copy of Sierra either on another mac or drive or back up.

If you search the High Sierra macOS High Sierra discussions you should find how to do it.
