Can I create an acapella in Garageband?

Can i create acapellas with instrumentals, and the regular version in garageband?

A tutorial link would be great!

Or just some suggestions!

Read closer. i said instrumentals, not instruments.
I want to use the original track, and the
instrumental.
And match them to create an acapella

Chris, I have to say your wording isn't clear, so I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to do. However, assuming you are trying to match new performances to an existing recording:

You can drag the existing recording into GarageBand. Turn off the metronome. You can listen to the output of GarageBand on headphones and record any number of new tracks, singing or playing along with the original recording. You can mute the original track in order to play back only the new tracks, whose levels you can then adjust to get the sort of mix you want, and export the result to Tunes as a mixdown.

Go here for a tutorial on using GarageBand:

Hope that helps.

Just to clarify your question:

Are you trying to record both vocals and instruments with the goal of outputing the vocals alone as well as the vocals with instruments, in other words, two different versions, one acapella and one with accompaniment?

As long as you have the hardware to send separate channels to GarageBand and record the vocals on a separate track(s) to the instrument(s) then you should be able to do this. Low end audio hardware that just sends one stereo channel to your Mac may not be sufficient to do what I think you are asking.

If you want to created different versions of one song (ie an acapella and instrumental version), then when your full version is complete, mute the tracks accordingly, then export to AIFF. Only the active tracks will export. So you can have a full instrument and vocal version, a vocal only version (acapella), and an instrument only version (instrumental).
