Permissions problem with SMB on 10.13.1

Previously, I reported that SMB was working fine in macOS 10.13.0: Re: How's SMB in High Sierra?

Now, I have two users who have upgraded to 10.13.1, and they can't mount SMB shares.

The users are able to hit Command-K, view the different shares from the server, but when they try to connect, they are informed that they don't have permission to access the shares, which is not true.

The SMB shares in question are being served from a FreeNAS server.

The clients can ping the server at proper speeds with no packet loss.

The clients running 10.12.6 and 10.13.0 have been able to connect just fine.

The FreeNAS server had been running Samba 4.3.11, but just for good measure, I went ahead and updated to Samba 4.6.4, to no avail.

On the 10.13.1 machines:

I've also found other users who are having the same problems, but haven't reported any fixes:

I believe I've isolated the issue to 10.13.1. Does anyone have any insight about what's wrong and/or how to fix it?

Just wanted to follow up here.

It turns out I had accidentally set permissions wrong on the entire ZFS pool, recursively. There was no particular issue with 10.13.1--it was just bad timing.
