Contacts Notes missing in High Sierra

I think this started after High Sierra.

The Notes in Contacts are truncated, cut off, missing.

Updating Notes in Contacts is not working right.

I carry a LOT of notes in Contacts.

Now there are only a dozen or so lines.

Sometimes I see all the Notes, but mostly I don't.

The problem looks the same on both my iMac and MacBook Air, which are synched on iCloud.

I can't figure out how to control or fix this.

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.1), 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD

I have exactly the same problem. I use Contacts massively for work, and I keep notes associated with 4,000 contacts going back 20 years. Since upgrading to High Sierra a couple of weeks ago the notes text is often cut off horizontally half way through line 6. Your link to Contact Support isn't helpful because I can't find anything there related to Contacts. Apple is now negatively impacting my business.

I hope you get that this is serious. (Combining that with the famous Apple-driven iPhone battery issue & device performance degrade, I'm approaching a platform switch off Apple)

I, too, have thousands of contacts going back many years. The truncated notes are beyond irritating.

However, I have another, possibly bigger problem. My contacts are disappearing. I KNOW I had contacts, with detailed notes, but they have simply disappeared. These aren't anything I would delete because, if I deleted contacts, I wouldn't have thousands of them! Further, they aren't properly syncing with my iPhone from my MacBook Pro.

These are all recent problems and they are VERY IMPORTANT. I hope Apple gets on top of this quickly.

Thanks for the heads-up on losing your contacts. I will keep a record of my count (at about 10,000) to make sure my contacts are not missing. That could be disastrous!!! I keep on thinking that Apple will fix the problem, but nothing yet. I have notified Apple Feedback, but they don't acknowledge my message? I'm about to march into my local Apple Store and ask them what's up!!!

Hey, that works! I'm having the same sporadic problem too. Notes that were entered years ago are viewable no problem for me. The trouble seems to be notes that I have entered in the recent past - but can be viewed now. Thank you!

EDIT/UPDATE: and then moments later I discover that this fix is temporary! If you click off the contact to another and then back it reverts to the notes being truncated. Also I just realized that if you enter notes in a contact now it only allows for FOUR lines! FOUR LINES! Are you kidding Apple?

What exactly happens when you type more than four lines?

What happens when you resize the contacts window?

I've been trying to reproduce these issues, but so far I haven't seen it.

Also, even if not all the notes are visible, does command-A work to select all, so you could, e.g. command-C to copy and paste it somewhere so they can be read?

Nothing works for me (MacBook pro) - Address Book (Contact) notes are truncated beyond about 4 lines whether they are old Notes or new Notes and command-A and command-C to copy and paste it doesn't work either because notes beyond a few lines are not 'seen'. It's unacceptable that Apple don't get a fix on this. The only thing to do to read Contact notes is get on a mobile device. It's bonkers!
