Apple Pay Cash not showing in iOS 11.2

Hello!

I just updated to iOS 11.2 and Apple Pay Cash is not showing for me. I have a iPhone 6 and it should support Apple Pay Cash. I also confirmed with a friend that updated to iOS 11.2 and he has not got the feature ether. I'm from the US so it should work.

Thanks!

FYI, 1:00 pm, I found that Apple Pay Cash switch magically appeared in Settings>Wallet & Apple Pay, and I was able to complete the setup of Apple Pay Cash.

I can see it in settings now but when I try to set it up, it says the servers aren't available and to try later.

As I don't know anyone I'm likely to use this feature with in the foreseeable future, I'm not terribly impatient.

Since the option just went live for XX Million users, the US servers are probably being hammered at the moment. Check back in the late evening when things have settled down.

Yes, it's not working on my iPhone 6 either.

Odd part is that it showed the toggle button in Settings' Wallet & Apple Pay preference the first time I went to it. However, it sent up an error message after a few seconds and stated that Apple Pay Cash was not operating at this time and try back later. Now a couple of hours later, it no longer shows the Apple Pay Cash toggle button in the settings!

Hmmm... 😕

I kind of agree with you Lawrence. I've had this ability for a long time with Paypal and it's not restricted to anyone. I'm sure I'll activate this on my iPhone, but am not sure it's something that will be used much, if at all.

What I don't like about PayPal is how long it takes for money to get deposited to your account if you don't want to keep it in your PayPal account. I don't remember reading anything in the fine print about how it works with ApplePay.

If you link PayPal to your bank account you don't have to transfer money to your PayPal account. It will debit your bank account in real time if you send a payment. There's no service charge if the payment is to another person.

I'm talking about the other direction. Someone paid me through PayPal. The transfer to my PayPal account was instantaneous. However, as, at the time I wasn't using PayPal very much, I wanted the money in my bank account. That took about five days.

Let’s try to stick to the title. I also have been using paypal for over 7 years and i also have the paypal card reader and the square card reader, but for every transaction you receive they charge a small fee so your not getting all of your money. Will i stop using them? No, but supposedly with Apple Pay cash there is no fee for receiving transactions, but i wont know until all my devices catch up and they get this update. So far its only on my iPad Air. Now just like IdrisSeabright said if you like to make a small contribution to me or him/her so i/we can confirm this then you are more than welcomed to do so. Lol.

One correction: Paypal does not charge a fee for transactions between individuals, only for commercial transactions. And since you brought it up, Square Cash doesn't charge a fee either.

ApplePay Cash appears to require that you keep a balance in your account. If I'm wrong about that I apologize, but I read the user agreement and that is what it appears to say. And it requires a debit card. I know Idris said she used AmEx, but I canceled my AmEx cash account years ago when someone pretending to be me withdrew $10,000.

I read the User Agreement that comes up when you go to set it up. While it says Credit or Debit card, there are features that only work with a debit card. I'm assuming that if you use a credit card the card issuer would treat it as a cash advance, which involves fees and interest.

Despite the kind offers of some of the folks in this thread, I doubt I'll have much cause to experiment. But, if I do, I'll let you know.
