How to create fonts that have a stamped look

How do I go about creating a font that has that stamp look?

By "Stamped Look" do you mean embossed (raised), debossed (inprint) or rubber stamp?


The first two you will need to do in a photo editor or high end vector drawing program.


The rubber stamp look can be achieved by overlaying white "grunge" over the text, creating the illusion of breaking it up.

Fonts are created with software called font editors. There are a ton of them out on the internet.


Once you've settled on the font editor you want to use (they tend to range from $0 to $bunches) all you have to do then is settle down and work on the font until you have it the way you want it.


If it turns out to be really good, you'd probably want to copyright it, but be sure to read the terms and conditions of the font editor. They might claim the rights to any work product from their software.
