photos as black squares

photos as black squares

I have MacBook Air iOS10. The photos in my library, before a certain date, all appear as black squares unless i click on them individually. They are in iCloud but I want to see them on my computer in photos. Help please.

iOS 10 is the operating system for iPads and iPhones.

Mac OS is the system used on Mac computers such as your Air.

So, what version of the OS do you have? What version of iPhoto do you have?

I have OS X Yosemite.

I don't know what iPhoto I have. How do I find that out?

Up on the menu bar it says the application name. Click on that and select About iPhoto.
