What does this small horizontal line on my iPhone X mean?

Just noticed this line in the right ear of my new iPhone X today, but couldn't quite figure out what it means. My best guess is that it means there are additional status icons (alarm, location services, Bluetooth) which can be seen if you pull down to open Control Center. Can anyone confirm this?
