Erase OS X Base System

Hi there, I've already erased the Harddrive but can I also erase the OS X Base System (Disk 1)? Would like to restore to factory settings.

Look forward to your response!

hi

your OS X base partition does not contain any user data, at least I don't think so

but if you still want to remove it I suggest making a bootable install media there is a guide here How to create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support then boot to the installer by restarting and holding the option key, select your install media and hit enter. Open disk utility and erase

User uploaded file

then follow this guide to install the os How to reinstall macOS - Apple Support

just in case What to do before you sell or give away your Mac - Apple Support
