If it is not already listed as the primary source, then it may help to move your Apple Watch above your iPhone in the data sources list for Steps:
On your iPhone, in the Health app, go to: Health Data > Activity > Steps > Data Sources & Access > Edit.
It is the primary source already.
health app has 6,000 steps less after a walk than the Apple Watch. After a walk the watch seems to be accurate but then it won’t show on the health app. Only like 2,000 steps show even though I walked several miles.
