I can't directly connect my Kindle Fire to my Mac mini using an USB sync/charge cable. The tablet doesn't show up on my desktop or system profiler. I've tried restarting the tablet and I've tried different cables. I installed Android file transfer app but app doesn't "see" my tablet. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thx

I would test with another computer to verify the kindle is not the culpit
Download Calibre, its free. I use it to not only convert ebooks to mobi or az3 files but you can put in or delete books on the Kindle with it.

Thanks! I've looked at Calibre. I have no problem reading ebook files. I have a hardware problem. My USB ports recognize peripherals and flash drives but not my Kindle.
