Second screen strobing USB-C to DVI

Hiya,

When using a brand new comsol branded USB-C to DVI converter (from my USB-C only MacBook Pro to Mac Display from late 2000's) the second display flickers - to the point of strobing. When plugged directly into a DVI port there is no issue at all.

Is this a USB-C issue?

Or more likely a comsol issue?
