False low battery status and warning

I have an iPhone 6s 64GB running iOS 11.1.2. Lately I've been getting a low battery status and warning. When I shut off and restart the phone the battery indicator returns to it's fully charged status.

iPhone 6s, iOS 11.1.2

You may want to make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store and have the battery tested. It may be on the verge of failing.
