Hi there,
I had exactly the same issue, but found a way around it, subscribe to Apple Beta Program, download and install macOS High Sierra update 10.13.3 beta, here is how:
Subscribe to Apple Beta:
Download Feedback Assistant:
Do a full backup with Time Machine:
How to use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support
Once done then go to App Store and update the above mentioned update!
Let me know if it was helpful and more importantly, in a later stage if you have resolved this issue, as it seems that there are a high volume of issue with the 10.13.2 update, and it would be important to inform other users of a way to resolve it!
Good luck!
Thank you for your answer.
To be honest I have no spare time to experiment with new updates. So I found a one month old backup on my time machine disk and stepped back to MacOS 10.13.1.
I lost some of my files of course. But a bit outdated machine is better than nothing

Too late, I already installed it and it's running fine on all my MacBooks, including models older than yours.
What is your definition of a brick? Does your computer do anything? Was your computer running alright prior to the update or were you trying to fix an issue by updating? Installing the update does not turn a computer into a brick, something went wrong with the update or something else on your computer. Can the computer boot? Can it boot in safe mode?
I recommend not installing a beta version of the operating system until you first determine what is wrong with your computer.
