7.7.9 Firmware update reduced range of Airport Extreme

I suppose anything is possible, but I've gone back and forth with different versions to experiment over the last few days and I notice no changes at all in performance.

I updated the firmware to 7.7.9 on 12/17/2017 and immediately started getting a overheating warning.

I have a problem too. Yellow light and overheating, No trouble with old version

My network reduced by 50% after upgrading to 7.79

The rollback to 7.78 solved this problem immediately.

7.79 clearly has issues for some users.

I will not update until 7.80 comes out

Yes you can try with IGMP snooping, it works for me but the CPU Airport is not enough strong for Multicast trafic, so i have some freeze each 3/4 minutes.

Hello, same problem. Make a downgrade to firmware 7.7.8. This helps.

also go back to 7.7.8 after 2 weeks with 7.7.9.

I hope someone will fix this issue on next update.

I found the following devices also can't detect 5GHz SSID after installed 7.7.9. And 2.4GHz sometimes lagging too.

I rolled back to 7.78 since then and got back to full speed.

But my airport extreme is constantly flashing that amber light prompting me to update.
