Cannot power on iPhone 8

I have a new att iphone8 . Window popped up with message that my phone has not been backed up on iCloud for 2 weeks With instructions to connect to wi fi , power source and enter passcode. I did and then instantly the screen went black. I read online that first time might take 2 hrs approx. I left it overnight and it still won’t power on. Please help. what can I do to restart.


I can’t get serial number because I cannot power on!

Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.

If that does not help, make an appointment at the Genius Bar or at an authorized service provider to have the phone evaluated.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support

Did what your suggested and phone was still frozen and would not power on. Apple support said to take to authorized repair, but they could not power on and it would take 5 days to get replacement. Unacceptable solution because this is my primary phone so I was able to see Genius as a walk in. Would not power on in store. frozen phone was using IOS v. 11.0.x ( can't remember the last digit)


I got a replacement iPhone8 and downloaded IOS v. 11.2.1. I hope to have a bug free Christmas and New Year!!
