Blank grey screen on windows boot

Hi guys,

I have a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro and I have tried installing Windows with boot camp with all of the boxes checked, however when I did that I got a message saying network error every time it got to downloading the support software. So I decided to download the support software separately and use boot camp to create and install windows and then install the drivers.

It worked creating the usb and partition but then when I reboot, hold alt and then select the windows option to install it I simply get a blank grey/black (still backlit) screen and nothing happens.

I thought maybe I need to install the graphics drivers first or put them on the USB somehow so it installs with them but am unsure of where to put them on the USB if that would even work.

Any ideas would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

I used the link you provided which was a massive help so thankyou, however when I got to the boot screen there was only one orange option which was EFI boot so I tried that one and it worked as the windows logo came up and it started letting em set it up, but then it said "no device drivers found. make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers" and wouldn't let me go any further. I thought the drivers on the USB would have worked but it kept giving the same message no matter what I selected.

I have tried using a different windows ISO and that is working for me up to where it allows me to choose where to install windows. It says "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The Selected disk has an MBR Partition table. OnEFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT." Followed by "Windows cannot be installed to the hard disk space. Windows must be installed to a partition formatted in NTFS."

Any ideas?

I Have the same situation on a MacBook Air 13" 2015 with OS High Sierra last update witch fresh installation.

I try to install Windows 10 (download 2 different ISO) and windows 7.

I create partition witch BCA after reboot I proceed with windows installation, everithing ok but after restart ... black screen (and some random rebboot) I also try to wait (12h) but no luck.

If I Try after partitioning to boot from Non-EFI Windows i Cannot proceed with Windows installation because there's a "Error in GPT Partition" and cannot format the bootcamp partition. I Also try to erase and re-create the partition but no luck.

I'm spending a massive amount of time...

Update. Finally I'm successfull install Windows. I Used a external Drive with Windows 10 DVD.

The problem Unfortunately persist when I'm trying to instal bootcamp driver.

After some second that the installation start the screen go black again an there is no way. I wait 3 hours and try to unplug the Power cable (I read that in some case ther's a problem witch screen brightness and power managment). Reboot but no luck....
