Iomega USB drive failed

Question

I have an Iomega USB drive that won't "mount" to the desktop.

Is there any way to get it working again?

When I run Disk Utility, I see an error message that says:

"First Aid Process Failed. If possible back up data on volume. Click done to continue."

MacBook Air, macOS Sierra (10.12.6)

Try reformatting the drive.

Although the Support Topic says Aperture, the process is the same regardless of Aperture.

This will erase all data on the drive, so be sure you have a backup.
