Trying to Restore Backup, it asks for password I never used

User uploaded file

Where do I find this password? Is there a way to reset it using my apple ID?

I know all my apple passwords it should not be that hard right?

I see a lot of people asking this question and everyone just recommends 40$

3rd party software to hack the passcode. I do not want to pay money for

Apple's software engineer's mistake. This is really inconvenient I

have extremely important data on this backup.

The only way to find it is to remember it or ask the person who set it (it cannot be reset via your iTunes account) : About encrypted backups in iTunes - Apple Support

You can’t restore an encrypted backup without its password. With iOS 11 or later, you can make a new encrypted backup of your device by resetting the password. Here’s what to do:

  1. On your iOS device, go to Settings > General > Reset.
  2. Tap Reset All Settings and enter your iOS passcode.
  3. Follow the steps to reset your settings. This won't affect your user data or passwords, but it will reset settings like display brightness, Home screen layout, and wallpaper. It also removes your encrypted backup password.
  4. Connect your device to iTunes again and create a new encrypted backup.

You won't be able to use previous encrypted backups, but you can back up your current data using iTunes and setting a new backup password. If you have a device with iOS 10 or earlier, you can't reset the password. In this case, try the following:

  • If someone else set up your device, ask them for the password.
  • Use an iCloud backup instead of iTunes. If you don't have an iCloud backup, you can make one.
  • Try using an older iTunes backup.

The thing is I am very careful with all the passwords I set, and I remember them. I have

never chosen to encrypt it in the first place let alone set its password. Moreover, I am not the

only person this happened to, if you search this issue online. You guys have a bug in your code.

I have already restored my phone, not being aware of this glitch. Can I go to the Apple store or

something to restore this backup? Or is it safe to think that all my files are deleted?
