can't delete location in maps

This suggestion did not work for me and I have the same problem. All I get is this House with a Wrench under it icon plus an address near my home that I didn't purposely put into my phone. When I click on it, it gives me directions. When I swipe right, it offers me the option to share. There are no favorites listed when I click on Favorites.

I agree there is a red Remove option when you swipe left. The entry disappears but comes right back. I have even uninstalled the Map app but when I reinstalled, all the prior locations were still there.

I may try to connect it to a computer and see if any files are available I could delete. The reload did not recover any of my pictures but it did get map locations .. strange.. 😟

New iPhone X which was reloaded from an iPhone 6 iTunes backup. Latest OS updates installed.

I found how to remove the history entries. I rebuilt my iPhone X and got back my photos and text messages but the histories would still not delete.

I found by turning off "iCloud Drive" the entries disappeared and I was left with just the Favorites. You may be able to turn off just the Maps option under the iCloud Drive and accomplish the same thing.

I am now testing to see if I can turn it back on after the entries were removed to see if they will come back. So far, they have not come back so possibly I can now leave the iCloud Drive option enabled if I need it.

When I follow your instructions I’m not sure how to get to significant location. I find where it is and what it is ( a lengthy explanation) but once you find it do I scroll to the bottom where it says learn more? I’m frustrated because all the locations I had saved are suddenly gone and a location I didn’t even enter is there instead. Maybe this option (significant location) isn’t on my version of iPhone?

This was helpful i was unable to remove all the times it said i had been to the location. When i went back to maps i was able to remove it. I have no idea how it was added to significant locations. Thank you it was bothering me that i could not remove it.

Thanks for the help, but there is still an underlying issue I hope Apple will look into.

There is a business just down the street from me. Clearing location history in Privacy->Location->System Services->Significant Locations and then then turning off Significant Locations stops notifications related to this incorrect address, however if I search for the address, the “home with wrench” icon still shows up next to this business. So I am forced to either deal with the annoying incorrect notifications or not use the Significant Locations feature.

When I swipe left the only option I get is share, I was able to swipe left and delete all other ones listed in my history but not the one with the White House with a wrench icon.
