IMessage/Text Messages Out Of Order

Yea me too... Apple has really started to become disappointing

I’m still having this issue in 11.4!

Unfortunately that does not work for me. This is infuriating.

And if I'm paying that much for a phone, I shouldn't have to reboot it every day to make it work correctly!

Did you try the other steps I mentioned too>?

I have and iPhone X - I also have tried the following - resetting phone - resetting iMessages by turning off and deleting network setting as requested by apple support - and this has done nothing - apple really need to get there act together, its getting super annoying when you get a new message and its down the bttm of the list. COME ON APPLE

The interesting thing is that it doesn't appear to be everyone. My daughter and my Ex=wife both have the iPhone 7 as do I and they have never experienced the problem. I personally have only experienced the problem on my iPhone not on my Retina Mac which is running MacOS 10.13.2. I can't get High Sierra to load on my Mac Mini so I can't attest to that and I didn't upgrade my iPad Pro to 11.2.1 because of the problem on my iPhone.

I will say that Apple Engineering communicated to me that this is a known problem and what they had me do, which I documented above fixed it on my iPhone.

Did you read what I posted that Apple Engineering had me do yesterday that fixed it for me?

I did the hard reset, the restore and new device and a DFU to no avail. The simple Date & Time thing fixed it for me.

I think I figured it out. Go to iCloud.com on your Mac and log in. Then go to settings. Click on the right side of the screen that says time region. Although it probably says your correct time region anyways, when you click on the actual thing the map will be hovering over the California instead. Click your correct time region on the map, save then close. Restart your iPhone + Mac if you have one. I fixed mine that way at least.

I also removed my old phone from those settings as well. So if you still have your old iPhone active under it you may want to take it off.

Mine are out of order again.

Has anyone noticed this. I was taking screen shots, to send to Apple when I talk to them this afternoon, and I got one where they are out of order. But then, when I was showing a guy at work, they popped into order. I got a shot with them out of order and one with them in order so, hopefully, this will help when they look into this.

I timed responses and it appears that, if the person waits to respond 20 to 30 seconds, or longer, the message will be in order. If they respond before 20 seconds elapses the message will appear out of order.

Not only has the update not fixed the text issue, but I discovered this morning that since updating to 11.2.5, the Bluetooth text message reader function in my car is no longer supported! I despair of Apple. 😖

Thank you, that works! I noticed when I turned off the Set Automatically button that the time zone was Beijing. Got a chuckle out of that since I'm in New Jersey. Once I turned it back on, it set the correct location. Updates! 😉

Me too! I’ve been having the same issues since late December and every person I talked to over Apple chat would tell me to do something different to my phone. I reset my phone, did a force restart, erased my phone twice and finally they told me to replace the battery and I did. I paid almost 40$ and that didn’t solve my problem. When I contacted Apple again now in February, they told me to erase my phone again and set up as a new device, so I had to download all my apps again and I lost all my messages. That’s so frustrating! I was thinking of updating to an iPhone 7 or 8 but now I might switch to an Android phone...
