Ever Since I updated to iOS 11.2.1 my messages do not show in correct order Ive tried restart manually setting time and 24hr time. Nothing seems to fix this issue driving me nuts constantly missing text because overlooking. They are showing as if they were received before other messages. Common Apple your killing me how can I keep speaking so highly of you when lately you've been letting me down.

I just got off the phone with Advanced Support from Apple and Now have mine working.
If you go into Settings > General > Date & Time > Turn off Set Automatically for about 10-15 seconds and turn it back on.
I did this and have now tested it with a new message thread as well as an exiting message thread with two people that I have had the problem with and it is now working correctly.
The issue is with messages in the same minute. iMessage does not seem to be using seconds for ordering messages, so they appear randomly. So much so that I miss even replies, ie if ios thinks that the incoming imessage is earlier than the last imessage I sent out. So I end up missing iMessages altogether.
I do nit think they are out of order if sent in different minutes or hours.
I am on the latest MacOS and have had this issue on my MacBook Pro since December. I reported it to Apple and they said it was a known issue and a fix was being worked on. 8 months later and I am still waiting. I now try to use other messaging tools for most of my contacts as Apple seem to have no interest in resolving it.
iOS 11.2.5 specifically mentions the iMessage conversations out of order issue. I upgraded to it and have not experienced the problem since.
I have heard that disabling it has worked for a couple of people. But for me it did not work.
Does not work for iPhone X - it still changes the time.
Yea, it only happens when someone replies super fast, under a minute or 20 seconds, so some don't always notice it.
