How do you use a Macbook Pro as a monitor for a Wii U?

I am trying to get some replays that I have saved on my Wii U for Super Smash Bros onto my Macbook Pro. I can no longer use the option to upload the replays to YouTube because Nintendo shut down MiiVerse, making it impossible. After some research, the only way to get this done for free (I'm a broke college student so free is my only option) is to use my Macbook Pro as a monitor for the Wii U, and then run the replays while using the screen recording feature to get mp4s of the recordings. The endgoal is to get mp4s of the recordings on my Macbook Pro! Can you use the Macbook Pro as a monitor or are there any other ways to get the mp4s on my Macbook for free? Thanks!
