Hi I recently requested for my name to be changed from "thuha_" to "yveta".

However, apple changed it to "yveta_" even though the username "yveta" is still available.

If nothing can be done I understand that, but it would mean the world to me. I thank you sir.

My Email aren't coming thru at all. Have no idea what's wrong. can anyone help?

You start by starting your own thread as your problem is unrelated to this thread. Be sure to explain what devices you're using, what version of the system software, what, if any, error messages you're seeing.

There is already a user with the name jefftb so you cannot take over that username. You probably accepted one of the suggested alternatives when you tried to pick one originally.

I too would like to change my username. I think I created it a while ago when I was having trouble finding English in a user community (maybe it was Apple when I was traveling oversees). In any case, it is a very strange thing that when you create a username here Apple thinks it should be etched in stone.

I need my username changed, as it somehow matches my real name! Could someone report me to the hosts.

And by the way, I understand protecting the hosts from being contacted by anyone about anything, but isn't this a slightly insane system for fixing username problems?

I would like to change my username here on community.

I created the username back when I used this as a family account. But now with family sharing, they all have their own accounts now. So I would like to change my username to reflect that.

Posting here seems to be the only way to accomplish that.

Thank you, and thanks for your important points. They aren’t news to me. I suppose I was motivated by a principled resistance to the anonymity of the internet that is associated with (more: enables) just the abuse you refer to and that we all know exists. Guess I’m being too idealistic, wanting to be transparent... sigh.

I can see that point as well, which is why I used my real name for so long. And, I'm not saying you shouldn't do it. Quite a few people here do. By and large, this is a very civilized forum. The world could do with a bit more idealism and transparency.

Hi again, I’m not sure if this is possible, but I was not offered a choice of new username at all, and was simple assigned a new one: “Zedmicred”, and would much rather just have it changed back to my old one: nigel285. If you can do anything to help I would appreciate it! Thank you!

Okay, thank you very much. I see no e-mail in any folder from that address. But they might have an old e-mail address for me... And I don't see how I can check what e-mail address is under my profile as it isn't listed under "Public Profile and Preferences".

I'm so sorry that this seems to be the only way to change your username! I don't want to bother anyone but I'd love to change my username too! If you could alert the wonderful powers that be I would appreciate it! :)

Could someone let the hosts know that I'd like to change my name too? I'd like my account to carry a little more credibility than a cringy 14-year-old's gamertag can supply. At the time of this post, my account name was "ThuGiraffe."
