How to delete malware / virus pop-up on iOS Safari?

I have an iPhone X. When using Safari on any website, after about 5 to 10 page views, the attached pop-up appears, "congratulations Amazon.com user". I have cleared Safari history and data. I have completely reset my phone and set it up as a new phone. The virus / malware pop-up keeps appearing. How can I get rid of it?

I cleared all web browsing and cookies. Changed the web browser to a different browser one day ago. It seems to have worked as it had gotten to where it happened every time I tried to use Safari it would lock up my phone. Will be interested to know if I change back to original browser if it begins to happen again.

Is this simply an annoyance or invasive data mining software?

This problem appeared on my iPhone 6 this morning.

This is a problem with the site.

This is how I got rid of it.

Amazon and Walmart popups?

1. Force close Safari application. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201330

2 Clear History Caches and Website Data. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201265

3. Settings > Safari > Search

Turn off Search Engine Suggestions,

Safari Suggestions,

Quick Website Search

and

Preload Top Hit.

4. Highlight and delete the entry in the Safari’s search bar.

Press spacebar key on the keyboard twice.

Enter the URL for the site manually and then “Go”.

Test for a while.

Repeat step 4 for all problem sites.

After couple of days, re-enable those disabled Safari search options.

This is not helpful at all. I have the problem with the main Swedish newspaper. I contactet their customer support who says it is with my device. But I only have the problem with this single site and I cannot clean it away. I am also everywhere told that an iPad cannot be infected. This is absolutly stupid. Could someone who knows anything about this write something useful. Please and thanks in advance.

Actually after a while I got more and more convinced that the virus was at the newspaper and not at my iPad. I the had a loooong discussion with the helpdesk of that paper who did not believe me. They actually refered to this discussion here and asked me to follow the apple advice which never helped. They never admitted their fault but suddenly the problem just disappeared without any action from my side. What I’d expect from apple is some kind of instruction how you can assess your iOS device and make a certain statement that it is not infected. It would help a lot if you go into these kind of infected discussions with infected websites. 😉

Yes, the problem is site specific, may be even time specific.

Amazon popup showed up on my iPad and iPhone simultaneously.

This was the first time ever I had seen seen this pop-up.

I force quit Safari, removed website data, disable search engine options

and revisited the site after adding spaces before entering the url.

I have never seen the pop-up again.

This was a newspaper site I visit daily.

Sorry it didn't work for you.

I will test Thirdgen and bgiftedupper sites later.
