'Stuck' on "Searching..." for bluetooth devices?

Hi All,

Only had my series 3 +cellular for 24 hours and I've always used the function to be able to unlock my iMac (running macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.2) with my watch (previously had a series 1 since launch), but I now seem to be 'stuck' on the searching screen (on the watch). Its paired with my iPhone 7plus no problem, but can't seem to pick anything else up.

Any ideas?

Hi

Going to Settings > Bluetooth on your Apple Watch is not how to:

  • Either check the connection with the paired iPhone.
  • Or check the connection with your Mac.

It is instead how you would connect your Apple Watch to compatible Bluetooth accessories, such as headphones.

Going to that settings page instructs your Apple Watch to start searching for any Bluetooth devices that have been placed into discovery / pairing mode, so it is normal for it to report "Searching" whenever you open it.
