If you're having trouble connecting to your Yahoo Mail account in the native iOS Mail app, remove your Yahoo Mail account then re-add it in iOS Mail.

Go to settings down to Email Accounts delete account that not working correctly then add back again.

Did you use the Automated option

This option is available to newer versions of the OS.

1. Open the iOS Settings app.
2. Tap Accounts & Passwords.
3. Tap Add Account.
4. Tap Yahoo.
5. Enter your Yahoo Mail address and password, then tap Sign in.
6. Optionally, disable aspects of Yahoo Mail from syncing.
7. Tap Save.

or the manual setup?

Use this option for older versions of the OS, which do not support the automated setup.

1. Open the iOS Settings app.
2. Tap Accounts & Passwords (or Mail, Contacts, Calendar on older devices).
3. Tap Add Account.
4. Tap Other.
5. Enter your full email address and password, then tap Next.
6. Enter our IMAP settings for incoming and outgoing servers.
7. Enter your email address for the user name, then tap Next.
8. Make sure "Use SSL" is on and "Server Port" is 587, then tap Done.

I am amazed that this isnt being flagged up as a najor issue by more people - ther is clearly a problem with yahoo mail on the apple app on both pad and phone. I have tried all of the suggestions given including deleting and reinstalling yahoo mail and the nearest thing that works is force closing the apple app and then reopening. I have been in Apple store and they know its a problem and just shrug their shoulders.

I have installed the yahoo app, which is not great and has constant adverts, but it seems to work - totally fed up with this issue that has gonebon for months now and has often caused problems when trying to receive important emails!!

Thats a slightly different issue.

It's not unique to Apple products only unfortunately or that would be an easy fix. I deleted Yahoo...transitioning those on Yahoo to my gmail, which offers heightened security as well.

Yahoo servers are tiresome to keep up; their ever-changing status and issues continually cause issues, so I moved on fully to a stable, reliable provider

I have considered transitioning to gmail - its just so many accounts that would need updating. Might be the only way forward though!
