Contacts 'notes' display truncated. Only way to view last three lines on screen is to add 3 carriage returns and a character to the 'note' field. Anyone else having a similar problem?

Contacts 'notes' are displayed apparently truncated. The only way to view last three lines (of the note field) on screen is to add 3 carriage returns and a character to the 'note' field. Anyone else having a similar problem? Found a better solution?

MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012), 2GHz Intel Core I7, macOS High Sierra, Version 10.13.2, Contacts version 11.0 (1808.6). Problem seems to have begun with the recent major upgrade of Sierra OS.
