I'm just got off the phone with Apple. They are getting ready to put out an updated message that says we are going to get the $50 refund, if you purchased the battery by December 14, 2017. I called 1-800-275-2273. Was on hold for a while, but finally got a nice young man, who in turn put me intouch with a very nice young lady - that took my information, verified my battery purchase and has set me up to be refunded the $50. I hope this helps everyone.

Hi, if you had your battery replaced after the 14th of December, you can contact Apple support. Confirmed with Apple Support that they will transfer you to customer relations to process your refund.

No one here could answer that. Apple has just announced they will be reducing the price, they have not begun offering the lower price. You would need to either speak to Apple, or watch for any additional press releases from Apple for information. This is a user to user support forum, and Apple does not participate here.
Apple actually called me today after my initial complaint, to let me know they have launched a refund program and would be refunding me the difference I paid in battery prices. I'm pleased about this as it really is the right thing to do if you more recently replaced a battery. Confidence restored. 🙂
I got my iPhone 6s battery replaced a few weeks ago and paid full price. I was just told today, after chatting with an apple rep, that only individuals who got their iPhone 6 (and newer) batteries replaced after December 14th, 2017 would be offered refunds. Unfortunately for me, I got mine replaced on December 11th. And, Apple isn't making any exceptions... I found it odd that the date they told me was exactly 3 days after I got the battery replaced, and they couldn't point to where this date was published (stated that it was internal only).
Same for me - no refund because I had my battery replaced before 12.14.17. Please, everyone, if you have time, go to apple.com/feedback and tell them how you feel. If enough voices are heard...Well, you never know.
I tried yesterday and the answer is no if you replaced it prior to December 14th. My 6 plus slowed as a result of the 11.1.2 update. I replaced battery on Nov 20th, as well as purchased a new X. Apple has adopted a policy not to honor replacements at a discount if they were purchased in advance of Dec 14th.
Absolutely NOT. I just got off the phone with apple customer service. I had my battery exchanged in an Apple Store in Seattle on Dec 7th. I escalated my request to a higher up person at customer service and got the same answer. NO. They will not refund my $50 (I paid $80, now they are charging $30). The reason? My battery was changed on December 7th. Apple will only refund people who had batteries exchanged on or after December 14th. I missed it by 7 days. Apple refuses to budge and will be missing me as a customer as soon as this battery dies and I get a Galaxy.
I've been a loyal Apple customer for years. Not any more. Their rigidity on this issue is ridiculous considering that they have been less than honest to their long time loyal customers.
From my previous post:
Absolutely no refunds for those of us that had batteries changed before Dec 14th. I just got off the phone with apple customer service. I had my iPhone6 battery replaced at full price ($99CAD+tax) on Friday night, 30 minutes before their store closed for the day. The next morning, the announcement was made on the immediate price reduction. Called Apple - they confirmed price reduced to $39CAD and after being sent through a few advisors, they would not refund me the difference because there is no 'refund' program. I was less than 1 hour too early and they still couldn't make a discretion to do the right thing. Disappointing.
The program has not started yet, it is not to start until later in January, and you have been instructed in the last Apple press release to watch for details and an announcement. Nowhere does it mention anything about a refund, so an assumption of that is not correct, until Apple makes an announcement.
As of 4 Jan 2018, I was told by an Apple Genius guy at my local Apple store that he was instructed by HQ to--at the moment--provide the difference refund ($50) if the battery/replacement was purchased/done within the past 90 days. I replaced my battery about four months ago, so, at this time, I'm SOL! This could change, though. I will keep bugging Apple customer service until Apple's final policy decision is posted on Apple.com--as I was told it would be by multiple customer service staff.

Personally, since this problem escalated since the iOS11 update, then that should be the date they go back to and make the offer of the $29.
You are entitled to your opinion. However, no one on this forum is in a position to make happen what you want. Apple doesn't read here for suggestions. You can submit feedback here:
They will only refund you if your battery was replaced on or after the 14th of December 2017. I tried to get a refund today but got told no!! So they have lost 1 loyal customer.
Battery replacement refund?
