Ever heard of "as is" no warranty from Apple?

Purchased an iPad Pro latest version from a 3rd party vendor. Contacted Apple support to find out the remaining warranty. They told me the iPad was 14,000 days out of warranty. It was sold "as is" without any Apple warranty. I have never heard of this and was wondering if anyone else had information on this. Apple was of little help.

Thank you.

OK, I found the reason for all this.

Buyspry.net (which is different from buyspry.com) is actually associated with eBay.

The website indicates in the fine print this is a refurbished iPad. Further, when you click on “Item Description “ and read the fine print, it says “No manufacturer’s warranty should be expected...”.

Non Authorized Apple resellers have no source of Apple OEM products, so whatever they sell is, at best, previously purchased from Apple or an Apple Authorized reseller. That means it’s used, and the warranty began counting down the day it was sold by Apple or their Authorized reseller.

At worst it’s stolen or counterfeit.

The 14000 day comment makes no sense to me, as that’s 38 years so nearly predates the very existence of Apple as a company.

Well, that’s not reassuring 😕 The only “official” refurbishment is via Apple, and they only sell their OEM refurbished items themselves, so OP, I wouldn’t trust these snake oil salesmen with a ten foot pole.

I.e. The only source of Apple OEM refurbished items is the Apple online refurb store. ANYTHING refurbished elsewhere is by someone neither known to Apple, nor Authorized by Apple, nor “official” in any sense (other than their own minds).
