Pages app won’t open

I know my documents are there because I can see a list of them, but when I try to open the app there is only a blank page and the only thing I can do is completely go out of the app. No documents show there. I get a pop up that says “internal error. unable to initialize remote proxy for extension. The connection was interrupted.”

Have you tried to force quit the app then force your ipad to reboot?

Double tap the home button and flick the preview for pages off the screen to close it. THen hold down the sleep and home keys for 20 seconds or so. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and then try again

There seems to be a lot of reliability issues with iCloud lately including this Pages App Opening & Crashing issue.

I think I found a solution. The issue seems to have to do with Recent Pages Documents stored on iCloud Drive.

  1. !! Before you try this make sure you have a good backup of your Pages Documents !!
  2. Go to iCloud.com and delete the Pages Folder.
  3. Go to System> Preferences>iCloud and click the Options Button next to iCloud.
  4. Uncheck Pages.
  5. Click Done
  6. Restart your Mac.
  7. Go back to the iCloud settings above and Click Pages Back on again.
  8. Add some Previous Documents to the Pages Folder and allow them to upload.
  9. You should now be able to open your recent Documents in IOS on your iPhone or iPad.
