Can you use both paypal and apple store gift card to pay for and item?

I want to know if I can use both paypal and apple store gift cards to pay for an item that I want.. Like pay for half the item with paypal and the other have of the item with the apple store gift card... im thinking of buying a macbook pro but not sure if I can use both payment methods together
