IPad Air 2 not charging

My iPad Air 2 battery drained completely the other day and now it will not charge past 2%. I tried leaving it on the charger for a couple hours and once I checked on it it was still at 2%. It quickly goes to 1% then shuts down. Is there something I can do myself or is it most likely a hardware issue? There is zero damage to my iPad and the charging port and it is completely clean of any debris. I am unable to get iTunes to recognize when it’s connected to my Mac mini at this point as well.

iOS 11.2

Skapunktika,

Even though this article: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't charge - Apple Support lists some of the steps you have already taken, it is a good idea to review them step-by-step. If all of that fails, be sure to use the "Contact Apple Support" link at the bottom of that page.
