I can access my Earthlink email through Apple mail on my iMac, but cannot send out of it, because I am always asked for a password, and my Earthlink password doesn’t work. Neither does my Apple password.

I suspect that you are inputting incorrect password information into you Mail account. Go to Earthlinks's website where you can manage your mail account there and verify the mail password or change it if necessary. Then use the following link to set up Mail on your Mac. Same here, I think it happened sometime after Mail version 10.3 came out. My wife mail (ver 10.3) works fine. My two other computers both have ver 9.3 and neither works, constantly demanding passwords, This after never asking
for a password for the 9yrs I've owned them. What gives Apple?
