Amazon winner pop ups on my iPhone

I would think resetting the advertising identifier could cause it to happen more often. I get them usually once a day on a site, I'm wondering it this is mechanism that stores I already saw the ad and why I don't see it again.

Just let others know if what I gave you fixed it. My own experience tells me that helped a lot. It will help others too since a lot of other people have the same issue. Clearing the website history cache is what you find online but it is not enough.

Yay! and I found a good article in MacWorld from October 2017 that list their fave adblockers for iPhone and iPad, 1Blocker being one of them. I have AdBlock Plus on my MacBook but never thought of putting it on my phone. Sounds like a plan people! I'm pretty housebound so I use my MacBook Pro more than the iPhone for web browsing but just having it a couple times with that Amazon ad scared me enough to come here. Thank you, papjo.

You’re welcome. And for the web sites that bemoan that ads are how they derive their revenue, well place unobtrusive ads on your site and we’ll disable the ad blocker for your site. But this thing is far beyond acceptable. Since I had never seen it before I thought my wife’s phone had been infected with something.

Now that’s a proven, sure fire solution!😁 But you’re right eventually the ad makers will circumvent current settings. That’s one of the reasons I used the paid version of my ad blocker. Hopefully it’s woth their while to keep up the “arms” race.

Not pressing “close“returns the notIfication. Did what you said, restarted both iPhone and iPad. Gift card notification and circumspect website appeared at the first website I opened after clearing history.

This doesn’t fix the issue. The first time I tried it in a customer phone, his problem was very intermittent. He called me an hour later. Still a problem. I tried it one more time and reset his SE with the power button and home button. Didn’t work. Two days later and the issue is constant. Gonna try turning off JavaScript today

Thank you for your perseverance. As you are learning, some people would rather complain than take action to resolve an issue. Or as Hamlet said, "...take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing, end them." Although I don't recommend Hamlet's specific solution.

I’ve had this issue with a customers android awhile back. So I agree, the issue is isolated to Apple products like I’ve read on here time and time again. I will say, the issue was much easier to fix in an android phone.

I think on that Android I went to the settings and disabled popups for it. Something like that. So that was what I looked for with the Apple phone first. I couldn’t find any option like that.

Ive been having the same issue as well and can’t seem to find a solution. This happens anytime I’m on any website reading an article. The pop up will take me to a free amazon or walmart card website no matter which website I started on.

Clearing history and website data does not work. The whole turn on airplane mode and clear and turn off doesn’t work. This is happening non-stop on every article I click on and it’s making me insane!!

I've done this, factory reset my phone and such but every single website I visit the annoying amazon winner pop-up keeps showing.

Nobody can hack all CNN, CNBC, NBA, MLS, BBC and so many others. The problem is with the phone.

It’s been happening to me for almost 8 months. It’s been rendering my iPhone useless for internet browser purposes. I’ve done what they say. I’ve cleared cache. Cleared and reset everything. I’m beginning to think iPhones are no longer safe. I’m sick of it.
