Fuji X-10: How to download photos?

Hi folks:

My old Fujifilm X-10 digital camera has mysteriously returned to life. But after 3 or 4 years of dormancy, I now have OSX 10.12 on my Macbook Pro. (An early 2011, 2 GHz Intel Core i7, machine.)

Does Apple offer any software to pull my photos off my camera?? Fuji did send a CD-ROM with Silkypix software when I purchased the camera, but I can neither locate the disc nor do I think this OS will accept it. Fuji says it no longer offers a download (the camera has gone through two further iterations: X-20 and X-30), and to see what Apple might offer ...

I tried Apple Photos (hate that name! photos are photos; don't steal the generic), but the icon for the X-10 does not show up in Finder when connected by USB, so there's no way to import)...

Ideas, anyone?

If the camera does not appear in the sidebar, it may not be fully powered (if the camera has a power supply, connect it to its charger) or the camera may be in the wrong mode.

Usually it is much safer to put the card into a card reader. Your MacBook Pro should have a card reader slot at the side.

Is your camera the FinePix X10? Then it is supported by Adobe RAW (Cameras supported by Camera Raw). and you could develop the RAW files with Adobe DNG Converter: http://supportdownloads.adobe.com/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Macintosh

Apple does not offer camera specific software except for RAW support (Cameras with RAW support are listed here and does not include the X-10 - Digital camera RAW formats supported by iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra - Apple Support ) and none is needed since all cameras shooting standard JPEGs should be able to be configured to International standards and work with any system including the finder and Photos -

So if you are using RAW then it is not supported - if you are using JPEG then you need to look at the camera manus and read the camera manual and set it correctly for standard import

You have a couple of options:

1 - put the camera's memory card in the card reader of your MacBook Pro. You should see the card on the Desktop and be able to import from there.

2 - with the camera connected launch Image Capture and see if it recognizes the camera and photos.

3 -

The camera normally won't show up in the Finder. It appears in the sidebar of Photos like this iPhone:
