Wifi Channel Finder

There used to be a widget that identified the wifi channels being used around you. This gave you the opportunity to changer channels. Also The MAC identifies users wifi in your area but not by channel. I have two providers Verizon and T Mobile. I can probably control my T Mobile chgannel but not my Verizon anbd have no idea what it is. Is there some setting on my computer i can use to identify channels or some avialable software or widget?

In the current version if you open Wireless Diagnostics and then click the Windows menu in the menu bar, Scan should be one of the options.

Wireless Diagnostics will scan the nearby APs. Hold down the Option key and select the WiFi menu. You can also find it by searching for the name in Spotlight.

When it opens, close the window that opens. Go to the Window Menu and select Scan.

You should turn off the WiFi access point you want to configure before scanning. It isn't smart enough to ignore the one you are connected to, so it excludes that channel when it offers suggestions. Click Scan Now button
