"iMac Pro" kernel crash

I have a new iMac Pro 8core 32gb ram 1tb SSD and Pro Vega 64

(attached are a usb hub, usb audio speakers, usb trackball, thunderbolt 3 raid with a thunderbolt 2 raid chained to it via thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2 adapter)

I am looking for input

Within the first 8hours I had two kernel Panics but now seem ok...my iMac shut off and rebooted by itself...both logs have {"caused_by":"macos","macos_system_state":"running","bug_type":"210","os_versio n":"Bridge OS 2.0 .....

To note my Logitech software wasn't recognizing my trackball but it worked ...after crashes I unplugged and replugged the trackball and the software was able to see it.

Should I be concerned?

iMac Pro (2017), macOS High Sierra (10.13.2), null

So my problem has been temporary solved these are the step I took

1) I erased my hard drive and reloaded mac os

2) i disabled sleep and power nap

3) I removed a sonnet chassis on the the thunderbolt drive that contained a PCIe card ( this seemed to be the solution)

It seems when this card was on the thunderbolt connection to the computer at the same time my la cie hard drive was on thunderbolt crashes occurred frequently. they were never daisy chained and had their own port. Disconnecting either seemed to solve random crashes. The card inside was a universal audio card.

the crashes that happened overnight stopped when I disabled power nap.

4) As others thought the crash is related to daisy chaining I disagree as on another thunderbolt port i have several hard drives daisy chained. It seems certain devices are not playing well together on the thunderbolt data pipe wether or not they are on the same port or not.

I will update if I have any more crashes. The problem is now I can't use my Universal audio PCIe card 😟

You iMac Pro folks should throw a welcome party for all of us new 2018 MacBook Pro users. These new laptops also have the new T2 chips and guess what? The same Bridge OS crashes that you are seeing.

My machine was fresh from the factory and I reinstalled everything rather than using Migration Assistant to avoid the "your old stuff caused it to crash" excuse. My computer has rebooted while sleeping twice in three days with the "your Mac restarted because of a problem" screen.

I just dropped $4800 on this thing. Inexcusable...

As a few recently mention Apple TB3->TB2 adapter as the probable cause, my situation of kernel panic was also 2018 MBP was connected to the adapter destined to another MBP (2015). Though, I believe it was not during an active transfer. Rather it was in the middle of sleep mode as most users of MBP 2018 experienced.

And MBP 2018 also seems to suffer the panic when only the power source is connected. So the symptoms found in here could be different from MBP 2018's. That said, it seems getting worse - multiple various situations bring Macs down!

Let me link my post in another thread. Also will link this post to that thread for cross referencing each other.

Did you see your panic log? It's located under /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ProxiedDevice-Bridge/ (or one step below "Retired") directory. Filename is panic-full-*.ips

Most MBP 2018 users get this type of panic:

{"caused_by":"macos","macos_system_state":"running","bug_type":"210","os_version ":"Bridge OS 2.4.1 (15P6703)","timestamp":...

Things like environmental setting, KEXTs, and TB peripherals may exacerbate the issue but I guarantee that in the end there’s a platform (MacOS + Mac) issue.

I got mine in December and it KP’d running in safe mode while doing nothing with no peripherals attached in a room at no more than 19C. So did it’s two replacements.

My advice to anyone experiencing this issue is to sit and wait for Apple to fix it but I’m not going to waste anymore of my time trying to troubleshoot it, already did that three times and we’re still here.

I have the exact same issue. I called AppleCare and the told me to bring the iMacPro back for a replacement machine. I did that and it did not solve the problem. The new machine had the exact same kernel panic crashes. Then they told me to erase the machine and reinstall from clean copy of OS. They told me NOT to use my time machine backup of my old machine and to reload each item and all software manually from scratch. I had no idea how long this would take. My first mac was 1985 512K so I have been collecting stuff for a very long time. No worries, I did not put any of the system 9 stuff on my new macs for many years now.

I invested 3 or 4 hours in loading things on the new clean system and then went home for the night. Came in on Saturday to see how the new system is doing and found it had crashed overnight. Good news is that I no longer need to keep avoiding migration from my old system and get all my stuff back in one easy restore. Bad news is that I still don't know what the issue is. AppleCare tech does not want to look at my crash logs. That seems crazy as I would think Apple would be all over this. I am going to try turning off the power nap and some of the other ideas listed in this fourm. If that does not work, I will be returning the iMac Pro for refund. I did not NEED to upgrade to this unit, I did it to avoid potential issues with my aging 2011 iMac 27". Turned out to be a big mistake.

Does anyone have any updates on what did work to solve this problem?

Great! Supports my earlier comments but you took it much further!

Now when you run First Aid on your active SSD, do you get these errors in each snapshot?

warning: crypto_val: object (oid 0x4): invalid state.major_version (0)

warning: crypto_val: object (oid 0x4): invalid state.key_os_version (0x0)
