Hide Menu Bar Bug

So I like to hide my menu bar on my Macbook pro,

However all windows open on my mac at some point change position/resize to allow a gap for the menu bar at the top, I find myself constantly having to resize them,

Sometimes I am unable to resize them until i quit the app and restart,

Is it possible to request a fix to this bug?

I want all windows to be the size of the screen all the time without having to go full screen mode

Right now Im on high Sierra but before updating this was also happening

Thanks

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.1)

Thanks for the thoughtful reply,

However I am not trying to use full screen,

When I say "Menu Bar" I mean the apple menu bar at the top which by default always appear,

but i set it to hide after a few seconds and appear again when I hover the cursor at the top of the screen.

The first screenshot is how it appears with the apple menu bar hidden, the dock hidden and "google chrome" resized to fit the whole screen, thats how i want things to stay always but OS X automatically resizes it to the second screenshot after a few times switching applications/windows

Thank you for the thoughtful reply,

To clarify, I want to have the top apple menu bar hiding itself when i don't use it thats not the issue,

The issue is OS X automatically resizes my windows to allow a gap the size of my menu bar at the top...

There is a possibility that the "ask to keep changes when closing documents" tick box might help,

I'll let you know if it does!

Open system preferences > General check these two boxes .

User uploaded file

And if the box of automatically hide and show the menu bar is unchecked

User uploaded file

In your second screen shot a gap is shown between top menu bar and edge of the window .

You are dragging the window in the bottom side so there is a gap shown between top and the edge of the window to resize it again drag it upwards so that it will fit the screen .

User uploaded file

To show the menu bar icons , again check the box of automatically hide and show the menu bar .

It isn't possible to get an app to do what you want in the first screen shot. The way you show it, you still (somehow) want to continue seeing the close/minimize/resize buttons of the foreground app. That's not full screen mode.

It appears you're showing Firefox. I had no problem putting into full screen mode by clicking the right resize button. That puts the menu bar off the screen and the associated buttons for Firefox. It stays that way until I intentionally move the mouse all the way to the top of the screen. Then the menu bar appears so I can get at the close/minimize/resize buttons.

If I Command+Tab to another app while Firefox is in full screen mode, it slides off the screen and brings the chosen app to the foreground. When I Command+Tab back to Firefox, it slides back to the foreground, still in full screen mode.

If you intentionally make a gap between top menu bar and edge of the window , then quit window / safari and again open it the window will refit and no gap will be seen in-between , but when i tried to shorten the window from left and right side of the screen , then quit the window again opened it the left and right gap was shown but the top edge was filled up .

So , its a what to say you can send the feedback the link is there in the thread .
