iMac Pro restarting because of a problem?

iMac Pro intially booted as a Mac Pro backup, then reverted and reinstalled fresh High Sierra because of some compatibility issues, now getting forced restarts with this error code, thank you for any help!

In regards to the problem, I'm still having the issue. It hasn't restarted on its own while sleeping in a few weeks (with the power saving options turned off, obviously). It does restart when I do other actions, mostly exporting video in FCP.

Since the new MacBook Pros have the same T2 chip its clearly related to it.

Guess I've been lucky then.

So far no ReStarts since 10.13.4 or so, although, I'm not really pushing my iMac to the limits that videographers and others are dependent on for a living.

Mine still happens all the time and I can never get my machine / iMac Pro not to go to sleep. I planning doing a clean reinstall OS. I GOT BRAND NEW REPLACEMENT TOO. So disappointed how Apple has handled this. I do no video editing or exporting.

Although I have both a Mid-2010 27" iMac 11,3 (without Thunderbolt) and a 2017 21.5" iMac 18,2 with several Thunderbolt external drives daisy chained in tandem, I have only experienced Memory Kernel Panics on the older iMac. (Frequently and for a couple of years.) Unplugging hardware, changing configurations and deleting software does no good, and I have always kept the OS current. It could be an internal problem (I do have the Memory maxed out at 32GB, and the on board storage is two internal SSD's, but all have tested as good several times, and frankly are to expensive to replace just to see if they fix the problem on an older machine. I have for some time leaned towards the idea that it's an inherent bug either in the firmware for the Mainboard or the mainboard hardware itself, but as long as the iMac continues to function I don't mind unplugging it for 14 seconds once a week or so. It's not a "POPO" problem as I never turn the machine off, only put it into sleep mode between uses. And I gave up getting an answer from Apple long before my hair turned grey. My advice - put your power plugs where they are very easy to get to so you don't have to crawl under your table every time you need to reset the memory when you have a Kernel Panic. Works for me.

Okay, well that's kind of what I was wondering myself, but then how can I explain that the machine both restarted automatically and did not log me in? In sys prefs I have it set NOT to restart and in addition to log me in AUTOMATICALLY.

On the other hand, is this exactly what others are experiencing?

By that, I mean if I were to unplug the 120 volt power to the machine, then plug it back in, it would not automatically restart. Also, if I do power down manually, then reboot, I am automatically logged in.

I suppose I can agree with your conclusion if I accept that seeing the login screen is part of the Random Restart is part of the dysfunction. I certainly can understand your point. I just seem to remember that when I was experiencing the RR's months ago, the machine would shut down, but it would not restart. Now I'm wondering if there are two distinct issues going on here, or more likely I'm now just experiencing what everyone else is for the first time. I dread it's the latter. Would you agree, even given my prefs settings?

Been about two weeks now since I switched back my external hard drives to their original ports with NO restarts.

So, I'm moving on. Just installed Mojave v10.14, up from High Sierra v10.13.6.

First time ever I think I did a major version upgrade without any problems, so we'll see.

It's been awfully quite on this thread recently. Has anyone found or heard of a random restarts solution either from Apple or on their own?

I´ve not had any reboots myself... I haven't exported any big projects from adobe media encoder lately but did some big ones from DaVinci resolve without any issues (both these rebooted my iMac before).

Before this, I unplugged all the cables to do a hardware test in apple diagnostics (external disks, Wacom tablet and more) and after putting everything back in. After that, no reboots...

I have no words.. Still waiting for a reboot in other software.. but for now... nothing...

btw... I´m not able to enter apple diagnostics due to the mac not registering my bluetooth (apple original) keyboard before the log in screen.. and yes... I have tried all the "tricks"..

I have an iMac Pro. 4 months are past since I have purchased it (this week), and now I had the same problem, reported to be caused by that Bridge OS:

The causes can be 2:

1) I installed a Logitech Gaming Mouse (Proteus Spectrum). The driver is compatible with Mojave, they say.

2) I installed Unlox. This software for iOS/macOS allows to login the iMac just with a tap on the iPhone and/or when the iPhone comes close to the Mac.

I uninstalled Unlox and all its components. I will post more in the next days.

After running the diagnostics test on my iMac Pro and rebooting I've yet to have any more kernel panics as well.

Well, I installed the 10.13.4 MacOS Security Update 2018-001 on 5/13, which is now almost a week WITHOUT any issues. Maybe this fixed it. Anyone else benefit from this update?

To view your BUILD NUMBER, simply click on the Apple menu/About This Mac, and then click your mouse on the word "Version 10.13.4" to reveal the build number.
