I keep getting Director player errors

Hi

I was recently given an educational program/game that is supposed to work on a Mac. After loading it I keep getting the following three Director player errors when I try to start the game.

I get this one first.

Then this one right after.

When I click yes to continue the following one comes up.

Is there any way to get this program to work or should I just delete it?

I have a 2011 iMac (2.7GHz Intel core i5) and the OS is macOS High Sierra (v10.13.2)

I've never heard of Director Player before. Some quick research revealed a thread from 2006:

Based on what I read, I'd suggest making sure you're not running the game straight from the .dmg, and don't put it in the Applications folder. Seems like the game would rather be in its own folder on your hard disk. From there it might run … worth a try at least.
