iPhoto keeps crashing

OS Sierra. Everytime i open iPhoto it crashes. Has been fine until this morning. I have followed all the advice for cleaning up the library (Opening while holding down option/command) still no luck.

Incidentally although the iPhoto icon is on the toolbar it is not showing up on the launch pad. Is there/ could this be the reason? if so how do I get it back onto launchpad?

Can you post the start of the crash log, please? The first 50 lines or so.

And check, if iPhoto is in your Applications folder. The icon in the dock may be linked to an iPhoto version on an external backup drive. To check what the icon is lined to, select the iPhoto icon in the Dock, ctrl-click it, then select "Options > Show in Finder". Does this open your Applications folder?

Once ClenMyMac has damaged your library you have to restore an undamaged copy as I posted

restore your iPHoto library backup from before you ran CMM

Getting ride of the malwear you purchased will keep this from happing in the future but does not change the past, you need to restore your backup from before you damaged your library

thank-you everyone for your helpful. However I still have the problem. I have followed the advice and got rid of the 2 applications, searched launchpad, etc. Still no joy. iPad is definitely not on the launchpad but the icon IS on the dock. But when I hit it it opens and crashes immediately.

I am at a loss as to what to do next.
