I just fired up Activity Monitor on my MacBook and I was wondering if Apple Support has a list of Process Names definitions. For example, I see 'adid' which means nothing to me. While many processes are pretty much self explanatory, others are not. Thanks!

EtreCheck is very good at listing 3rd party apps that run as kernel extensions, daemons and launch agents (those are generally the kind that run 24/7 on your Mac.
NOTE: 3rd party programs would be difficult for Apple to catalog.

Thank you Bob, that's very helpful. I get your point regarding 3rd party programs. The idea for the list was to eliminate from the list all the MacOS-related processes in order to isolate the 3rd party programs that I cannot readily recognize. So your link is indeed a good start. Thanks again!
