Problem with connecting display LG 27UD88-W to MBP2017 with TouchBar

I have a problem with connecting LG 27UD88-W display to MacBook Pro 2017 with TouchBar. It's similar to this one https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7766302?start=45&tstart=0 but there is more to that. Every time I wake the computer from the sleep it shows an image on both MBP and LG display but it fails to display it in 60Hz. I try to change settings in System Preferences > Displays but nothing helps. Sometimes unplugging the monitor from power and plugging it back again helps but not always. The problem always appears when I wake the computer from the sleep so it's similar to the one that was discussed in the thread I've mentioned.

I've tried updating the software for the monitor but it's up to date.

The problem occurs every day... I don't know if it's something wrong with macOS or LG monitor.

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017), macOS High Sierra (10.13.2)

Hi, jagi88!

Thanks for stopping by the Apple Support Communities! From your post, I understand that your external LG display is not displaying in 60Hz. I'm happy to help!

Based on what you've described, I would recommend a reset to both the System Management Controller (SMC) and the NVRAM on your MacBook Pro. You can get more information on what the SMC and NVRAM handle, why resetting them can help, and how to perform this resets in the following articles:

Have a great day!

Thanks for the help. I'd reset SMC and NVRAM and tried putting MBP to sleep and waking it up. And at the first time, it failed to wake up LG display that was still connected. However, after unplugging and plugging in back again it correctly displayed image in 60Hz. I need to test it for a few days and see if it works beside not waking up display.
