Will replacing my iPhone battery delete any content on my iPhone

I need to get my iPhone 6 battery replaced, will anything on my phone be deleted? Or is it likely it’ll be deleted? There is always a possibility, but what are the chances?

Hi,

I am not getting it done by Apple. It’s a repair shop. Do you know if it wipes or phone? (Hopefully it doesn’t) but if it does I’ll have to find something that’ll activate my phone.

Thank you for ur reply. I will do a full backup but the main reason I am wondering is because I have an iPhone 6 and I am using it without a sim right now. It is locked to Fido and if I did lose content I would have to reset to factory settings and then go to the fido store, they would have to put in a Fido sim to activate the phone. And that is a lot of work just to activate a phone. So I wanted to know if I should purchase a dummy SIM card (sim that doesn’t have a number,cellular data) that way if I do have to reset my phone I’ll have a Fido sim handy at home. Thanks again for the reply!! :)

The Apple store (in Canada) will have Fido SIMs, but they may not work if they have not been activated with a phone number.


Be sure to make a backup. I took my iPhone 5 to an Apple store for battery replacement about a year ago, and they had trouble getting the old battery out (very strong glue), so replaced the entire phone instead for no extra cost.
