So I just bought an Apple Watch Series 2 from a friend and I don’t really like the color. Can I walk into my local apple store and trade it in even though I didn’t buy it?

In the US, for example, you do not need to provide proof of purchase, but the program's terms and conditions require you to acknowledge that you are the owner on record of the device and that you are entitled to trade it in.
