"This app is no longer shared with you." It's a lie.

My wife is trying to use one app that I have already purchased. When she does, she gets the message "This app is no longer shared with you. To use it you must buy it from the App Store". If she attempts to go buy it in the app store, after doing all the credentials stuff, it says something like "This app has already been purchased by some one in the family", but you can re-download it from the App store. When she does the, it works fine "for a little while". Sometime from 1 day to a week later, the cycle begins again.

We have made no changes to family membership. The device has only ever been signed into iTunes with her account.

To complete the irony, I'd happily pay the $4 again to the developer (with 30% to Apple), but it won't let me do that either.

I have been getting this problem as well.

I was able to fix it the first time by removing all family members from family share, then logging out of iCloud on ALL systems, including laptops. Then, re-log into all the devices, set up family share again from scratch. That worked.. last time.

This time, I ran into the same issue, I followed the steps above and I can even see and download the apps from family purchases, but they won't open at all and gives me is "This app is no longer shared with you." message.

I am convinced that this is an iCloud/iOS11 bug that is coming off of the heels of all the other bugs that have been in iCloud and iOS11 since it was launched.

I'm in agreement with those who think the problem is with the OS. I didn't used to have this problem with this specific app (Paprika 3). The app is sharable and the App Store sends me on a loop.

After using the app for a day or two I get a message "This app is no longer shared with you." It directs me to the App store and when I click on Open it takes me back to the app and "This app is no longer shared with you."

The only way I can get the app to work is to delete it from my phone and then download it again, and while downloading I get a message telling me a family member has already purchased the app. But then it only works for a few hours.

Hi there, dcorbin013!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are seeing a message that an application is not sharable and I am more than happy to help out! Since the issue seems to be with a specific app, I recommend taking a look at this article with steps to follow If you don‘t see your family‘s shared content . This article has the best steps to try, including this section specifically:

Make sure that an app is shareable

To see if you can share an app, go to its product page in the App Store and scroll down to Information. Then see if it says Yes or No in the Family Sharing section.

Some apps may not be enabled for Family Sharing. If you’ve acquired one of these apps, you can see it in your purchase history, but your family members won't be able to see or redownload it.

Let me know the results and have a great day!
