i want to add an app to my macbookair that says good for ios devices only. isn't a Macbookair an ios device?

No. iOS devices run the iOS operating system. iOS devices are iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches. Macs, including the MacBook Air run the macOS operating system. 2 different operating systems. And apps for one don't work on the other.

No, they don’t. Check if that application is available in the Mac App Store or on the developer’s website.

AFAIK the MacBook Air is a MacOS device. iPhone and iPad are iOS devices.
